The lecture gives an overview of the main technologies of taking and printing photographs of the 19th century, which can be collectors’ objects today, as well as used by contemporary photographers to produce their own works. A historical assessment of the technologies used and an art historical analysis of the works produced using these technologies are given. The lecture is illustrated with rich visual material.
