Lecture

Lecture by Alexey Loginov, Art Director of the Centre of Visual Culture Béton. Long before the modern possibilities of computer post-processing, which nowadays are familiar to everyone under the name ‘Photoshop’, photographers used to correct the conditionally true reality of photographic images, including by means of montage.
The lecture will give an overview of approaches to the use of photomontage from the Pre-Raphaelite photographers O. Reylander and G. Robinson of the mid-nineteenth century to contemporary authors using digital image processing technologies. The lecture is not only richly illustrated. Listeners will be able to see the author’s works under consideration during the class.
