The search for a new visuality in art and, in particular, in photography in the 1920s and 1930s led to the emergence of revolutionary ideas and concepts in the work of artists and photographers. Photography declares itself as an independent form of art. The lecture will examine the mutual influences of different arts on each other during this period, using the work of prominent artists and photographers as examples. Common features of development and peculiarities of foreign and domestic photography will be shown. The lecture is illustrated with rich visual material.
Lecturer: Alexey Loginov, art director of the Béton Exhibition Centre, historian of photography.
