The first podcast episode is titled «The Bechers. Düsseldorf school of photography».
In this episode we shall:
- Speak about the art of German photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher, as well as their role in the formation of the Düsseldorf school of photography – one of the most influential art movements of the 20th – 21st centuries.
- Examine the historical precursors of this movement, including the New Objectivity photography direction of the 1920s – 1930s and the works of such authors as Karl Blossfeldt, August Sander, and Albert Renger-Patzsch.
- Pay special attention to Bechers’ students, among whom there are renowned modern photographers – Andreas Gursky and Candida Höfer.
