ABOUT THE FILM
The documentary film tells about the work of the outstanding St. Petersburg artist and photographer Andrey Chezhin. His works are known all over the world. Some of them are part of the collections of the leading museums of Russia, including the Hermitage, the Russian Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in Moscow, others are kept in museums and private collections in the USA and Europe. In the film, produced on the initiative of the Béton Centre of Visual Culture, Andrey Chezhin talks about how his most famous series of photographs were created, the origins of his work and the almost magical processes that are usually hidden from the viewer’s eyes. Working exclusively with film and without digital processing, Andrey Chezhin captures the unpredictable and creates his own alternative reality within each negative.
