In moments of history, when the Horizon turns into a huge question mark and Boundaries are erased, it is as if we are drifting between present and virtual environments, between local communities and global streams of unverified information. Under the influence of personality-altering substances, body-modifying machines, synthetic pleasures, and networked minds that make the sense of self fluid and artificial, the boundaries of our identity are rapidly changing, and in an unexpected way the fragility of the human body, the physical aspect of being, remains the only measure of the reality of what is happening.
