Meeting with the artists at a solo exhibition is always a unique opportunity to learn first-hand stories of the works' creation, look at the photos through the eyes of authors and ask all the questions.

On January 26 at 18.00 Valera and Natasha Cherkashins will give a guided tour around the exhibition "Love and Ages of Change".

The authors will talk about their work with the cultural heritage of the USSR during perestroika. The objects of their attention were the Moscow metro, the VDNH, the Stalin skyscrapers, and the mythology of that time.

They made a number of exhibitions and installations on this theme, as well as several striking performances in the Moscow subway at the station "Ploshchad’ Revolutsii": Love of the People to Art for the People and Underground Wedding.

From 1995-2000 the artists actively worked with the cultural heritage of Europe and the United States, exploring imperial cultures and thinking. This was expressed in the project "Mirages of Empires".

In 1999-2000 Cherkashins held an underwater exhibition "Goodbye Favorite European Portraits: Hello Euro" in the atrium basin of the World Bank headquarters in Washington, DC. It was dedicated to another departure in the past, the retirement of European banknotes and the transition to a single European currency.

Participation is free, but you'll need a ticket to get in. You can buy one at Béton. See you there!
