A lecture by Alexey Loginov, art director of the Béton Center. Long before the modern possibilities of computer post-processing, which nowadays everyone is familiar with by the nickname "Photoshop", photographers were bringing corrections, including those using montage, into the conditionally truthful reality of photographic images.

This lecture will give an overview of approaches in the use of photomontage from the mid-nineteenth-century Pre-Raphaelite photographers O. Raylander and H. Robinson to contemporary authors who use digital image processing technologies. The lecture is not only richly illustrated. Attendees will be able to see the authors' works viewed in the class.

Participation is free, but you'll need a ticket to get in. You can buy one at Béton. See you there!
