This lecture gives an overview of basic technologies for taking and printing photographs from the 19th century, which can be now collectible and also can be used by contemporary photographers to produce their own works. The lecture offers a historical assessment of the technologies used and an art history analysis of the works produced using those technologies. The lecture is illustrated with rich visual material.
