From December 9, 2022 to February 26, 2023 in Kazan you can see the exhibition "PHOTOMONTAZH. CORRECTED TRUTH" at the State Gallery of Modern Art of the Republic of Tatarstan organized with the support of the Béton Center of Visual Culture. The exhibition explores practice of montage in artistic photography. Among many artistic practices photography and other technical means play a special role in "correcting the truth". Long before the possibilities of computer processing, photographers brought various corrections including montage – to conditionally truthful images. Artists participating in the exhibition present their model of reality, from works by Alexander Zhitomirsky, Francisco Infante-Aran, Andrey Chezhin, Valera and Natasha Cherkashins, Konstantin Khudyakov, Sasha Gencis, neoclassical collages by Olga Tobreluts to phantasmagories by GrOM and AES+F art groups. A total of 31 works are included in the exhibition.
