From 5 to 9 June in the ‘Manege’ of St. Petersburg for the third time will be held a large-scale fair of contemporary art ‘1703’ Last year it was visited by more than 15 thousand people. We are waiting for new records in terms of attendance and purchase of works of art!
Central Exhibition Centre Béton will be represented at stand G1, the concept of which is ‘The Art of Reality’.
Art and reality are as much opposites as they are inextricably linked. One is a derivative of the other, and what is primary depends on the point of view. It is enough to change just one of the parameters forming the system of reality to create a unique artistic reality formed by the creative imagination of the author. By changing the integrity and spatial position of the shape of the face one can look beyond the barriers of his mask into the maelstrom of the human soul. By transforming the landscape of the scene, depriving it of its usual naturalistic colour, while adding abstract forms of colourful fields and the shapes of cosmic bodies, it is possible to overcome spatial and temporal limitations and imagine the reality of a fantastic future. Finally, by excluding photographic sources from the process of image creation, it is possible, while preserving the detail and texture of the objects, to create an independent world of artificial visuality, based on memories of reality, but existing outside its spatial or temporal limits.
The artists of the Centre – art group GrOM, Andrei Chezhin and Almond Chu – will be responsible for the ‘art of reality’ at our stand.
